Sounds like basically the same idea, just in a bit more complicated way. . . trying to keep the "weight" or "cost" of the shaders out of the equation til they're necessary. (Since you're geo caching, it actually wouldn't make sense to carry around the shaders anyways, cuz those rigs are getting replaced by the models after the cache)
Appreciate the info!

ZAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05102473278182318901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-100995272938801731.post-31212546585895696972012-10-18T08:01:25.193-04:002012-10-18T08:01:25.193-04:00Hi Willie.

Basic lamberts.
Once we had animated a shot, we would geocache the animation into a file.

Then, in the lighting scene, we would bring in the shaded character and apply the geocache.
So we didn't wait with applying textures to after animation, we just seperated the model into two branches. One used for animation and one used for shading and then used geocache to get the anim data over onto the shaded model :)Christoffer Andersenhttp://www.doffer.dknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-100995272938801731.post-51378997596866253272012-10-02T14:21:48.952-04:002012-10-02T14:21:48.952-04:00Thanks for the massive reply.
